These are stories of childhood spent along the banks of the Castor River in the early years of this century. Many are set in Osgoode Township, others are about the Village of Russell and the area around the boundary between the two great Townships of Osgoode and Russell. The stories, like the townships, are bound together by the branches of the Castor River.

Each story looks at history through a child's eyes and has some exciting action that involves the reader. These stories are particularly ;suitable for young people. They are for family time, for parentsand grandparents to read orr'their own, and especially for elders to read aloud to children.
